Do you wish to straighten your teeth but think that orthodontic treatment isn’t something that you can afford?  You may be surprised to hear that there are several ways that our Suffolk County dentists can make affording Invisalign treatment possible for you and your family.

Insurance Coverage for Invisalign Treatment

Dental insurance typically comes with a separate allowance for orthodontic treatment than what’s available for use toward your general dentistry needs.

Additionally, many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign in the same way they would traditional braces.

Typically, the coverage is a certain percentage of the cost of treatment, up to a certain dollar amount. The specific figures depend on your insurance plan.

You can find out your specific benefits by calling your insurance company, reaching out to your human resources department at work, or asking one of our in-office experts.

Spending Accounts Dedicated to Dental and Healthcare Expenses

A flexible savings (FSA), or a health savings account (HSA), is an account into which you or your employer deposit a portion of your pre-taxed income.  The purpose of the money is to be used throughout the year to cover your out-of-pocket healthcare and dental needs, including orthodontics.

Your FSA is managed by your employer, and as the employee, you are permitted to contribute $2,600 annually into the account. FSAs are part of a benefits package so not all employers offer this perk.  Your human resources department can inform you if an FSA is available to you.

An HSA is an individual’s account that has nothing to do with their employer.  Persons who meet certain IRS eligibility requirements, and have a high-deductible health insurance plan, qualify for having an HSA. The allowable amount that you can contribute to your health savings account is around $3,400 for an individual or $6,750, for a family per year.

Low and Interest-Free Financing Options

If you don’t have dental insurance or a special account designated to help pay toward your dental needs then you may want to consider taking advantage of our financing options.

Based on your credit score, the financial institutions that we work with will offer you an appropriate payment plan that is often interest-free if paid off within a specific time period.

For longer financial terms with smaller installments, we do offer low-interest payment terms.

If these options are something that you would like to explore then let us know and we’ll gladly assist you in any way we can.

Straighter Teeth Means Less Dental Treatment Needed

Some of the long-term advantages of having a straight smile is that your teeth will be easier to clean, putting you at a lower risk of developing tooth decay and gum disease. This means that in the long run, you’ll have fewer expenses for dental treatment.
