Dr. Craig Weitzman
Dr. Craig Weitzman earned his dental degree from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine in 2010 before completing his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at New York Medical College, where he had the privilege of serving as chief resident at Westchester Medical Center.
He brings extensive expertise across the full spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgery, spanning facial trauma, pathology, reconstruction, dentoalveolar procedures, orthognathic and TMJ surgeries, cosmetic care, and pediatric surgery. In the office, he frequently performs complex modern implant placements, advanced hard and soft tissue management, and state-of-the-art prosthetic strategies.
Passionate about giving back, Dr. Weitzman has traveled to underserved remote villages in Chile and the Dominican Republic to provide critical care. There, he performed a wide variety of dental and surgical procedures for children, ranging from routine extractions to complex cleft lip and palate repairs.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Weitzman maintains active memberships with the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the Queens County Dental Society. He also serves on staff in the Department of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital within the Northwell Health System. To ensure the highest standard of patient safety, he holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Dr. Weitzman takes immense pride in his work, believing that the best outcomes come from a collaborative, team-based approach and strong, trust-based relationships with both his patients and referring doctors. He stays at the forefront of his field by regularly attending continuing education seminars and following the latest clinical literature. He has been serving patients in private practice with Sachem Dental Group since 2014.
