Dr. Maria Grammenos
Dr. Maria Grammenos is a general dentist practicing in private practice for nearly three decades. Dr. Grammenos has been part of Sachem Dental Group for 25 of those years, focused on providing comprehensive, patient-centered care within this multi-specialty group setting. Her clinical experience spans restorative, prosthodontic, implant, oral surgery and endodontic dentistry, alongside a dedicated focus on treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea and TMD with advanced oral appliance therapy.
Dr. Grammenos was born and raised in Astoria, Queens. She earned her undergraduate BA degree in Psychobiology & Classical Civilizations from NYU College of Arts & Science in 1991 and went on to earn her doctorate degree from NYU College of Dentistry in 1996. Dr. Grammenos completed a two-year residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center where she served as chief resident during her second year, giving her additional experience and insight in the treatment of patients with complex medical and dental issues. She holds the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
In addition to private practice, she demonstrates a strong commitment to clinical education through her service as Assistant Clinical Professor at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine since 2022, following over two decades as an Attending in the department of Dental Medicine at LIJ Medical Center.
When not caring for patients or teaching, Dr. Grammenos enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
